When did you start WOTOWN?

October 2021

What sports or fitness things did you do before WOTOWN?
Walked occasionally but that’s about it since having kids

How did you find WOTOWN? What was your first workout?

I found out about WOTOWN through some friends but Jenn Brakefield was the one who really convinced me I could do it!

What’s your “why” for working out? 

My kids are at the age where they are pretty self sufficient leaving me with some time on my hands I haven’t had in years! I felt like it was time to do a little something for myself!

What’s your favorite thing about WOTOWN?

I have totally stepped out of my comfort zone which has always been a boundary for me ! But my favorite thing is the friends I have made along the way (HTown) !!! WOTOWN has truly become a second family!

What are your hobbies?

Lake time, football, music/concerts, watching the kiddos play sports , makers on Saturdays with the crew and just being a mom.

What’s something most people don’t know about you?

Well prior to a horrible car accident years ago I loved to run, workout and do pretty much any outdoor physical activities! The wreck pretty much took all of that with a leg injury that I would never fully recover from! But thankfully I gave WOTOWN a try (with encouragement from my friends that were going) and with the help of the coaches I have made gains I haven’t made in years!

What PRs or accomplishments (fitness-related) are you most proud of?

Well I have survived every workout so far ! Made many Pr’s that I never ever thought I’d be able to do at my age lol !!! My favorites have been bench press, deadlifts and power cleans ! And most importantly I’ve made the Workout Warriors list every month since i started WOTOWN! Oh and the Worky Shirt 💯

What’s on your fitness bucket list?

Definitely a pull up

What’s on your general bucket list?

Take a big tropical vacation to exuma Bahamas when I get these 3 teenagers raised ! Set better nutrition goals for 2024 and stick with them.

What advice do you have for people new to WOTOWN?

Give it 2 weeks and you’ll start to settle in! Find someone there you’re comfortable with and stick with them! Don’t be afraid to scale!

How does one become Member of the Month? By embodying the WOTOWN ideals of Learning, Working Hard, and Having Fun. By contributing to the community and supporting others in and out of the workout. By being open to coaching and improving oneself for the sake of being better, not to “win” the workout. By just generally being a good person and having a positive attitude. And a lot more, but you get the idea!
