Name:
Tony Mason
Occupation:
When did you start WOTOWN?
April 2021
What sports or fitness things did you do before WOTOWN?
5 years of CrossFit, traditional weightlifting, running, rucking.
How did you find WOTOWN? What was your first workout?
I knew Tres and Erin before they opened Wotown. The opening day community workout.
What’s your “why” for working out?
For longevity and to set a positive example for my children. I feel the best physically and mentally when I’ve gotten my workout in.
What’s your favorite thing about WOTOWN?
The friendships developed through doing hard things together.
What are your hobbies?
Cooking, craft cocktails, playing tuba, boating, traveling, and LEGOs.
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
A large part of my job is performing pediatric autopsies.
What PRs or accomplishments (fitness-related) are you most proud of?
Consistently working out since starting CrossFit. Maintaining strength into my mid 40s. The numbers on a scale or the weight I lift truly don’t matter.
What’s on your fitness bucket list?
Muscle ups and whatever contest my friends talk me into!
What’s on your general bucket list?
Retire early, travel more in Europe and go to Tokyo.
What advice do you have for people new to WOTOWN?
Just show up. We all have off days but I guarantee you will feel better if you show up.
How does one become Member of the Month? By embodying the WOTOWN ideals of Learning, Working Hard, and Having Fun. By contributing to the community and supporting others in and out of the workout. By being open to coaching and improving oneself for the sake of being better, not to “win” the workout. By just generally being a good person and having a positive attitude. And a lot more, but you get the idea!
